Kumamoto Agricultural Support Travel Project

A trip to support asparagus farmers in Minamiaso, Kumamoto Prefecture during the busy season!

\We are looking for monitor participants/

This is not a harvesting experience, so you will not be able to pick vegetables and take them home. You will be asked to help the farmers with their work and assist with all aspects of farm work.

This trip supports farmers in the mountainous areas of Kumamoto Prefecture, where aging and labor shortages are serious problems, and allows participants to experience the charm of the region while helping with farm work.

Preparing the soil in an asparagus field for the spring harvest

This time, we will be supporting asparagus farmers in Minamiaso who are in the busy season and helping to prepare the soil in their asparagus fields in preparation for the spring harvest.

Date and time: Saturday, February 24th to Sunday, February 25th, 2024

Monitor fee: 5,000 yen/person (adult/child)

Meeting place: Hisaishi area, Minamiaso village, Kumamoto prefecture

What to bring

◆Please come dressed in comfortable clothing that is easy to move in and that you don't mind getting dirty.

◆You may get sweaty during the day, so please bring your own drinks and a towel to wipe off sweat. Please take care of your health.

What is included in the cost?

Accommodation fee, 1 lunch, 1 dinner, 1 breakfast, bath tax

*Local meeting or free round-trip transportation from Fukuoka (Tenjin) is available. Please contact us if you are interested .

*If you meet at the meeting point, please pay your own transportation costs to the meeting and dismissal points . Parking is free.

* Accommodation is limited to 1 person per room or 2-4 people per room. Due to the limited number of rooms, we may not be able to accommodate your request.

Notes

◆This tour will proceed rain or shine.

・The event is scheduled to go ahead rain or shine, but may be cancelled if a warning is issued or there is heavy rain or thunderstorm. Thank you for your understanding.
・Please take measures to protect yourself from the cold and rain according to the climate.

◆Regarding cancellation of the event: In the event of storms such as typhoons and thunderstorms, or natural disasters such as earthquakes, the event will be cancelled. A decision on whether the event will go ahead will be made at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 23rd, one day before the event. We will notify you via the official website and email.
・If the event is cancelled, we will contact you later to ask for your bank details and refund your participation fee within the same month.

※車でお越しの方は、必ず四季の森の駐車場に駐車をお願いします。

​・久石ファーから、ご挨拶。

・農作業の前に注意事項などの説明があります。

援農活動(農家さんのほ場での作業)

12:00- 昼食休憩

​・地元の食材を使ったお弁当をご用意します。

・みんなでいただきます!

【午後】援農活動(農家さんのほ場での作業)

・畑あそび体験(焚き火、おやつ)

◆【夕方】農作業終了 

​・各自温泉等で汗を流してください。

This monitor tour is being conducted as part of a survey of agriculture and tourism collaboration in mountainous areas by the Rural Development Division of the Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Department of Kumamoto Prefecture.
